Pinnacle Weightlifting Classic In Colorado Springs CO
For USA Weightlifting athletes, there’s a constant stress put on their bodies. The intense demand on the muscles and joints as a weightlifter grasps the bar, plants their feet into the ground and lifts the weight (often heavier than themselves) high over their head, poses a high risk for injury. Two of Champion Health’s Colorado Springs CO Chiropractors worked hard to keep some of the most talented athletes in top shape during the February 6th, 2016 Pinnacle Weightlifting Classic. Jackie Berube, owner of Pinnacle Weightlifting, six time national weightlifting champion, current American record holder in the clean and jerk and total weight, invited Dr. Brittany Haupt and Dr. Gary Wood from Champion Health for the competition.
Champion Health employed Active Release Techniques (ART) to assist many of the competitors. This specialized treatment is a patented soft tissue and movement-based technique that treats problems with muscles, tendons, ligaments, fascia and nerves. A few common ailments this technique is an application for include: headaches, back pain, carpal tunnel syndrome, shin splints, shoulder pain, sciatica, plantar fasciitis, knee problems, and tennis elbow. Patients find resolution quickly and permanently with ART. These conditions are often a result of overused muscles as we see in competitive weightlifting. ART combined with chiropractic adjustments, enabled the athletes to perform their best.
